The Scottish Highlands offers majestic and wild scenery and blissful seclusion amid lochs and mountains. This northern part of Scotland beamed to a global audience in the likes of the Harry Potter films and the Outlander TV series. Anyone traveling through Scotland cannot miss it: the phenomenal animal kingdom. Deer, sea eagles, numerous bird species, highlanders, sheep and small and larger fish. They are found in the peatlands, the mountains, the heath, and the cold waters., every inch of the Scottish Highlands seems to promise new encounters with wildlife, adventure and mystery.

No matter what the weather (and there is generally a lot of weather) there are always images to be found. However, when the conditions are right there is no finer place to be with a camera.Scottish wildlife is abundant and extremely varied thanks to the country's diverse landscape.
natural beauty in its rawest form
The Highlands are wild and picturesque. Their rocky, barren summits were chiselled by glaciers and the rainfall of many centuries. Purple heather clothes the lower slopes in late summer. The valleys are usually steep-sided glens, with a long, narrow loch at the bottom.
The sun’s angle at this latitude produces deep and contrasty colors, drawing out the blacks in the soil and saturating the colours from the heather, grasses and moss.gallery
